Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Veni Spaces is a property and venue booking platform operated from Nairobi, Kenya. We connect users with verified event venues, boardrooms, BnB stays and long-term rental properties across Kenya. References to "we", "us" or "our" mean Veni Spaces.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Phone number — required for account creation and verification
• Full name — collected during onboarding
• Email address — optional, if you choose to sign in via email
• Profile photo — optional, uploaded by you
• Identity documents — collected when you activate host, agent and any other role deemed by us as requiring identity verification, for KYC verification
• Payment information — transaction references and payment tokens needed to process and record your transactions. We do not store full card numbers.
• Usage data — device type, pages visited, and search queries, used to improve the platform experience

3. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to deliver and improve the Veni Spaces service:

• To verify your identity and prevent fraud
• To process bookings and handle payments through escrow
• To send booking confirmations, verification codes, and essential service notifications
• To personalise and improve your search and browsing experience
• To meet our legal obligations under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling beyond the service, or any purpose unrelated to your use of Veni Spaces.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only to the limited extent necessary to deliver the service. By using the service, you acknowledge and agree that certain third-party providers are necessary to operate the platform and that their handling of personal data is subject to their own privacy policies and terms.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking and payment records are kept for 7 years for legal and tax compliance. Identity verification documents are retained for 5 years. You may request deletion of your account at any time — see Section 7.

6. Your rights (Kenya Data Protection Act 2019)

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements
• Object to processing of your data for direct marketing
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya
